Eco-Friendly Bio-Based Waterproof Membrane
Tiong Liong provides bio-based waterproof material, which can customize according to the required functionality of end use products. The bio-based waterproof membrane we use is BioPDO™. BioPDO ™ bio-based waterproof material do not compromise the waterproof performance due to eco-friendly attributes. It retains well performance on water vapor permeability. Tiong Liong offers BioBase PRO packages; for example, the four layers package with PU foam, which can reach the water vapor permeability of 5000g/m²-24HR.
Bio-based waterproof membrane adds BioPDO™, which is made from DuPont, in the blown film process.
Transformation process of BioPDO™ element is that extracting natural starch from plants and mixing with microorganisms and then going into fermentation process. Plant starch contains glucose, which helps BioPDO™ naturally grown from the fermenting process. By adding TPA (p-Phthalic acid), it assists BioPDO™ to have chemical bonding, so that fiber or film is able to be abstracted.
Comparing with conventional petroleum-based membrane making, bio-based membrane may reduce over 40% of greenhouse gas emission. The membrane made from BioPDO™ process may reduce 40% of non-renewable resources. It no doubt that it is more environmental friendly waterproof membrane.
