With “Green Sustainable Development” as its core value, Tiong Liong Industrial Co., Ltd. is a highly recognized functional textile supplier with rich experience and customer approval. Over the years, environmental considerations have been prioritized in the development and production of their products, leading to certifications such as ISO45001, ISO50001 and GRS, as well as the adoption of the Higg Index verification system. Committed to providing customers with environmentally friendly and advanced green functional products that are “friendly to the environment and humanity.”

Embracing the Circular Economy through Recycling

Based on the core value of “Realizing Earth’s Sustainable Development,” Tiong Liong has developed a range of eco-friendly materials, including ARIAPRENE® TPE Foam Package Fabric that can be self-recycled and MARINYLON® fishing net recycled yarn and fabric made from decommissioned ocean fishing nets. These initiatives promote maximum resource utilization and the implementation of circular economy concepts.

The latest development from Tiong Liong's self-owned brand ARIAPRENE®, the AP TERRA series, an environmentally friendly recycled composite material, represents a proud research breakthrough for Tiong Liong within the AP product line. During the production of ARIAPRENE®, a significant amount of production waste is generated, occupying storage space and requiring extensive manpower and resources for handling. Through years of research and testing, the company successfully recycles and repurposes these materials, extending the product’s lifecycle and achieving resource reuse.

AP TERRA retains the elasticity and stretchiness of ARIAPRENE® while enhancing its environmental performance. It finds versatile applications in outdoor sports shoes, protective gear, gloves, bags, and electronic product accessories. Renowned brands like NIKE, Adidas, and HOKA ONE ONE have chosen to use AP TERRA in manufacturing their sports footwear. Athletes praise the shoes made from this material, as they provide a second-skin-like feel. AP TERRA also demonstrates excellent comfort and environmental performance in products such as protective gear and bags.

AP TERRA not only excels in performance but also complies with the EU’s REACH Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) regulations, remaining free of the 200 restricted harmful substances listed in the regulations. It is hypoallergenic and meets the demands of modern consumers for environmentally friendly products. It can be combined with other functional textiles, such as water repellency, breathability, and moisture-wicking, to meet the diverse functional needs of brand customers.

AP TERRA is highly customized, aiming to achieve a perfect balance between stability, elasticity, stretchiness, and breathability, meeting the demands of lightweight, supportive, and protective outdoor sports products. Many athletes and leading brands highly appreciate the functionality and advantages of AP TERRA, positioning it as a high-value, collaborative, or limited edition footwear in the athletic shoe market. Its high-performance foamed composite material for footwear has evolved into a creative platform for product developers and designers, extending beyond footwear to various end-product applications.

Transforming Marine Waste into Gold
Fishermen work hard every day to catch seafood, but in doing so, they generate a large amount of discarded fishing nets. Many years ago, the internationally renowned sportswear brand Adidas partnered with Tiong Liong to transform these abandoned fishing nets into usable textile materials.
Although the technology during that period was not mature, after years of technological advancements, Tiong Liong started recovering retired fishing nets directly from local fishermen in Taiwan. Through rigorous processes of material sorting, cleaning and extruding, they went through stages such as pallet making, yarn spinning, and weaving/knitting to ultimately create MARINYLON®, which saves 28.6% carbon emissions compared to using petroleum refining yarn, achieving source control.
At the same time, Tiong Liong fulfilled their corporate social responsibility by conducting environmental education and collaboration with fishermen, making dedicated efforts for the planet!

MARINYLON® is 100% locally recycled in Taiwan, replacing nylon derived from crude oil as raw material for textiles. It is used to make yarn and fabric, giving retired fishing nets a new product life cycle.
MARINYLON® holds GRS certification for its traceable raw material source and helps reduce water consumption and carbon dioxide emissions, thus mitigating the impact on marine ecosystems and bringing economic value to retired fishing nets.
The fabric can undergo post-processing for functions like water repellency, moisture-wicking, and abrasion resistance, showcasing its eco-friendly and functional advantages.

International brands like NIKE, Adidas, Converse, New Balance, PUMA, UA, FILA, ANTA, Brooks, Reebok, Skechers, Asics, and Lululemon are foreign buyers of Tiong Liong’s products. Tiong Liong also collaborates with partners like the Pou Chen Group, Feng Tay Group, Ching Luh Group, and Sports Gear to further promote the development of eco-friendly products and expand its market influence.

Driving Innovation through Digitization and Intelligence
In order to further implement the goal of coping with sustainable development, in addition to actively aligning with international brands in terms of environmental-protection certifications and quality international certifications, Tiong Liong also combines internal design and development with external resource to create an ever-flowing sustainable supply chain, with environmental and intelligent production as its core foundation. This is aimed at providing more flexible and rapid services.

Tiong Liong has introduced textile digitization hardware and software, which converts textiles into digital files for digitalized textile design, color simulation, and rendering on the product. This reduces excessive sampling and resulting inventory wastage, optimizes resource usage, and greatly aids in reducing carbon emissions.
In Vietnam, Tiong Liong’s new factory implements intelligent production equipment for dyeing and finishing, optimizing water resource utilization. The company’s strides in digitization have earned high praise from international brand clients.

To provide more flexible and rapid services, Tiong Liong operates textile fabric production bases in mainland China and Vietnam, offering core technologies such as weaving, dyeing and finishing, functional coating, and lamination.
It also acts as an agent for international special materials and operates its own brand, allowing customers worldwide to enjoy consistent services and access a diverse range of materials.

The Vietnam factory is designed as a “smart factory,” incorporating green building designs, using solar energy for some operations, and embracing intelligent manufacturing, all reflecting Tiong Liong’s unwavering commitment to “sustainable development.”
